Weight-loss can be fun, easy, and enjoyable

To understand how it can be fun and easy you first must see that when you lose weight (sustainably) you become a different version of yourself who is happy with the body and how you eat. The most fundamental change is an inner change. That inner change then expresses itself as weight loss.

 

Where does the difficulty of weight-loss come from?

Have you ever wondered that? Why can’t it be easy? Why can’t it be fun? Firstly, it helps to understand that most people do not understand weight loss. I mean there have been so many different fad diets and new exercise regimes over the past decade. Have you ever stopped to wonder why that is? If they found something truly effective then wouldn’t people use it, tell all their friends about it, and the new fads would disappear? So why haven’t they found something effective? Because they are looking in the wrong place…

 
 
 

The error is dealing in symptoms but not with the source

If you have a fever, you wouldn’t put yourself in ice and hope it disappears (at least I hope not!). You’d find the source of the fever and apply the treatment on this level. Same with weight-loss. Instead of first going to diets and exercise regimes, it would be wise to first go to the source out of which the condition arose. This source is your inner world; how you see the world, how you feel about yourself and the world, and your belief systems. Most think that they feel shame and guilt because of what they look like. Not true at all! I’ve seen incredibly ugly people that are full of self confidence and self-enjoyment. And what about the jolly fat laughing Buddha? No, no, no! It’s the other way around. The shame and guilt you carry make it more difficult to lose weight and hold that weight in place. If those feelings disappear, suddenly you’ll find life a lot easier and lighter - and soon you’ll be lighter if that is what you choose.

The inner change of enjoyment

Would the version of you that is your ideal weight and that is everything you want to be carry shame and guilt? Or would that version of you be in a state of joy and gratitude? Rather than waiting for the outer change to occur, it exists as an option to make the inner change towards fun and enjoyment right now. Once this inner change occurs, you’ll find it far easier and more enjoyable to lose weight and the process can even become effortless - as though the weight lost itself. This approach is deceptively simple. It involves just enjoying everything as it is. Once you enjoy everything as it is, the old patterns making it hard to lose weight lose their power over you. The secret is committing to enjoying every aspect of yourself without exception (this means you can’t guilt about guilt - you learn to laugh at it!). This way, it becomes obvious what is blocking you being your most joyous self. With your commitment, sooner or later you find that you are your most joyous self. Suddenly, it dawns upon you that you are able to have fun with everything and choose whatever you want a lot easier then before with greater clarity.
