Panic Attacks end when the built-up anxiousness is depleted

The way the anxiousness is built up is by pushing away feelings. The method taught below is to welcome and invite the feelings that are there anyways.

 
 
 
 

Imagine you’re a bottle…

The way we are raised, when we don’t want a feeling we learn to push it away. The assumption is that if we push it away then it goes away but the reality is quite the opposite. When we push away something, we just bottle it up inside us…

 

This bottling up builds up an inner pressure…

In a bottle, as it is filled passed its capacity the inner pressure rises and soon the bottle cap bursts off to release that pressure. As the inner pressure of unwanted feelings rises it reaches a critical point which triggers a release event such as a panic attack; the cap bursts off and you experience the built up energy coming up uncontrolled and unwanted. This inner pressure has measurable physical expressions such as increased blood pressure, resting heart-rate, and reactivity to stimuli. It also has the immeasurable expression of an overall agitated state of non-peace. Large amounts of stored inner pressure results in large amounts of resting discomfort.

The method is to consciously choose to release NOW…

At first there may be fear, but as the nature of feelings is understood it becomes less scary and progressive clarity illuminates the way forward. It isn’t difficult either, any difficulty is not in the method but in the level of resistance that the ego has to it. All that is truly required of you is a willingness to let the built-up feelings pass through you at their own rate. The challenge is that the ego creates all these illusions like:

  1. Releasing feelings is hard.

  2. The classic “I can’t do it”.

  3. I don’t know how.

Once again, the truth is quite contrary to these beliefs:

  1. Releasing feelings takes little to no effort.

  2. “I could but I’m not yet willing”. There is nothing wrong with this. If you say “I can’t” then you disempower yourself and lock release from suffering via your hand.

  3. Everyone intuitively already knows how and can easily remember. The "method” is really just being willing to let go of that which you are not.
